There’s a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ about Kareena Kapoor Khan. Something about this glorious, understated quality…oh just shut it. Nothing demure here, I’m afraid. She’s the unabashed queen of Bollywood, all guns blazing, eyes on the prize. And she knows it. The niche she’s carved for herself? Marvellous. She is Midas herself, indeed.
You simply cannot turn a blind eye to Kareena Kapoor Khan’s provoking choice of roles and personality, both on and off the sets. Now that she’s completed 25 years in the industry (bless PVR for all the re-releases), we just complied a list of 25 reasons we love her. And there are plenty more, FYI.

1. She’s Poo, need I elaborate more? She’s the monopolistic supplier of sass for the entirety of this great nation built on the pillars of good looks, good looks and…good looks.
2. She’s a Y2K trendsetter. From her sartorially sound characters to her sense of personal style, she has dominated the style arena since day one. Faux pas – who’s she?
3. She’s candid, like really candid and knows how to give back. Be it intrusive journalists or fans who tend to overstep, her frown of disapproval is a fool-repellant in itself. Love seeing women in the spotlight taking a stand.
4. She has a varied repertoire of roles and stays away from being typecast, which easily could’ve happened, given her earlier streak of successful roles.
5. Cue her post-wedding red-sari, decked with nothing but sindoor and a dangling crystal pair of earrings (that look still lives in my head, rent-free). My eleven year-old self was mesmerised.
6. She literally has a song to her name. Bebo will never not be iconic.
7. When she walked pregnant for Sabyasachi at Lakmé Fashion Week, it was deemed the fashion moment of the decade. Front rows were shook, my fashion journal had plenty of cutouts of that specific look, plastered carefully.
8. She starred in Jab We Met, period.
9. Her husband, who’s a royal. And also happens to be royally dashing. And talented. So, so funny, unironically.
10. She re-wore her mum-in-law’s wedding ensemble for her own wedding. As a fashion journalist, I approve.

11. Her kids are the most adorable babies you’ll ever see. SO CUTE.
12. She’s a foodie and adores cooking. Baking especially.
13. She knows how to have fun, isn’t afraid of ‘memeing’ herself and can take a joke or two (respectfully).
14. She is a great dancer, you can’t not groove when Fevicol Se plays on the speaker.
15. Her proclivity to pick relatively indie roles, say in Chameli, Talaash and Heroine was a brilliant decision and offers ample insight into her capabilities as a performer.
