As we move towards a society where gender is not a simple binary, the fashion world has also stepped up, discarding the traditional notions of dressing a particular gender. ‘Agender’ clothing as its name implies, means clothing that is ‘without gender’. Keeping up with international counterparts, Indian designer Anvita Sharma’s label, Two Point Two, is breaking the stereotypical norms of dressing, through her designs.
Cruise 2020
Her clothes are unique in a way that they fall in both the categories, menswear and womenswear, with a fresh experimental spin to it. The oversized nature of clothing serves the purpose of all-inclusivity, which aims to annihilate femininity and masculinity, and promotes individual freedom. Since the label’s inception, rebellion has been a common inspiration for all the collections, including the rebellious zoot suits of the 1940s for the Autumn Winter 19/20 collection.
Spring/Summer 2019
Having lived in some of the biggest fashion capitals of the world, including London, Paris, Milan, Mumbai and Delhi (her hometown), Anvita credits her inspiration and aesthetic to having experienced various cultures. A graduate of Istituto Marangoni and one of the finalists of ELLE Graduates in 2019, she will be showcasing her collection at Milan Fashion Week SS’20 this September. A celebrity favourite, Two Point Two is a brand that is mindful, unconventional and inventive.
