When it comes to fashion, they follow a code of conduct which frowns upon bright nail polish and jeans. Pantyhose, on the other hand, is almost a requirement. Now, an etiquette expert has revealed the simple style hack Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle fall back on to ensure their skirts don’t ride up in windy weather.
Myka Meier, founder of Beaumont Etiquette, said in an interview, “Often they wear body suits and clothes that actually increase static so it’s much harder for something to fly up. So you have an undergarment that is almost like a body suit — that is one tactic that is used.”
She added, “I know when I went to finishing school we were taught that when you are on the tarmac, if you do not use weights or heavy weighted material, you make sure it will not fly up by wearing undergarments that keep the fabrics connect to your body.”
Meier also parted with another trick the royals use to always look poised and perfect — they use hats to keep their hair in place when it’s breezy. Especially when they arrive in foreign locales and are going to be clicked right away. That might explain why hats are so preferred by the ladies of the royal household.
The Queen has yet another fashion hack that avoids embarrassing moments. She’s said to use weights along the hem of her dresses, and these are apparently sourced from the curtain accessories section of the department store Peter Jones.
